Cambridge is an OK place for vegans. If you've got a car, you can reach The Daily Bread in King's Hedges - it's a big wholefoods warehouse and it's great. You could probably get to it by bus, actually. Failing that, there's Holland and Barrett in the arcade by the bus station and another small health food shop up past Sainsbury's.
As for eating out, I really can't remember ever having eaten in Cambridge, beyond stuff in fast-food places. There's a veggie restaurant up near King's College (I think; if you go from the bus shelter and up through the market square, you get to the right road) tucked up down a back alley, but whenever I've tried to eat there it's been shut. I will try other places and report back.
